But it's not just the CNG motorcycle. Rajiv Bajaj and his Bajaj Auto is a market leader in the 150 to 250cc segment, with an estimated market share of about 42% - all thanks to the Pulsar.

And it's not just India - Bajaj is also the largest exporter of 2-wheelers in the country, consistently exporting 1 lakh+ units a month to over 70 countries in Africa, Latin America, and Southeast Asia.

It is the most valuable 2-wheeler maker in the world with a market cap of over $30 billion. Bajaj Auto made a revenue of over Rs. 46,000 crores last year, with a profit of almost Rs. 7,500 crores.

And Pulsar alone is a Rs. 10,000 crore brand.

But Rajiv Bajaj is not a first-generation entrepreneur - Bajaj Auto was already a leader when he inherited the company from his father Rahul Bajaj. Their Bajaj Chetak scooter was the emperor of India for more than 2 decades.

But when it was about time for Rajiv Bajaj to take over, Bajaj Auto was in an extremely bad state - Motorcycles had started taking over the market in the late 1990s, and their champion Bajaj Chetak was experiencing a free fall in sales.
