Unit and Non-Unit Fractions | Maths with Mrs B.

This video is a continuation of the videos about fractions. It teaches learners about calculating fractions of amounts looking at unit and non-unit fractions.

National Curriculum Objectives:
Year 3: Recognise, find and write fractions of a discrete set of objects: unit fractions and non- unit fractions with small denominators
Year 3: Recognise and use fractions as numbers: unit fractions and non-unit fractions with small denominators
Year 4: Solve problems involving increasingly harder fractions to calculate quantities, and fractions to divide quantities, including non-unit fractions where the answer is a whole number.

CfW Progression Step 2: I am beginning to understand that unit fractions represent equal parts of a whole and are a way of describing quantities and relationships.I have experienced fractions in practical situations, using a variety of representations.
