This is an illustration only, consult your building code and permit before any wiring. The 14/2 and 14/3 wire sizes are for a 15 amp circuit, use 12/2 and 12/3 for a 20 amp circuit.
Note the black tape at either end of the white wire, this is to designate that the white wire is “hot”.
