Northeast Ohio weather: Winter storm is on its way; here's what to expect

Описание к видео Northeast Ohio weather: Winter storm is on its way; here's what to expect

Today's the start of it all! The expansive winter weather storm has officially developed for Northeast Ohio. We start with rain, but all variables (rain, ice, sleet, and heavy snows) are on the table as we head into tonight and tomorrow.

As colder air filters in from the northwest, we'll change our rain over to a wet snow from the evening rush hour and beyond depending on where you live. In terms of snowfall, we're expecting slightly lower amounts due to a higher moisture content with the snow. This would lead to a heavier, wet snow that would compact a bit more and wouldn't "fluff" up as much--at least initially. The snow should become more of a fluffier snow--easy to blow around--on Thursday as temps begin to really drop.

Beyond this storm, we bring in another round of arctic air so everything will be stuck in place for several days here in Northeast Ohio. We'll bounce back into the 20s and 30s over the weekend and into the beginning of next week, but no big warm ups are in sight.

YOUR 3-DAY FORECAST:

TONIGHT: Rain changing to a mix of ice and snow late this evening. Low-20s.

THURSDAY: On and off snow, heavy at times. Some wintry mix possible along and south of I-76. Slowly falling temps from the 20s into the 10s.

FRIDAY: Snow begins to exit, much colder. Upper-teens.
