As everyone that has attended Star Wars Celebration Orlando 2017 knows, at least for these first two days, the management and people running it have been awful. Every aspect out of control, etc. Today, Friday, was the strangest convention experience that I have had while just trying to get in. Everyone was queued up to enter the exhibit hall, which was supposed to open at 10:00am. Around 10:30am, everyone began to get very, very annoyed. Around 10:45am or so, a woman, further back in line than we were, went up to talk to someone and when she came back, she was clearly furious. She grabbed her husband, told him to get out of line, and everyone, as is the norm in this situation, quieted down and watched her. She and her husband triumphantly marched up a center aisle, rammed right through one of the barricade/line dividers, and kept going to the entrance. At that point all hell broke loose, and the line vanished as everyone knocked down the barriers and charged. The video does not do it justice, and it was much louder than it seems here. Suddenly, even convention volunteers (wearing their shirts and all) came down and THEY started knocking down the line queues. I can say for certain that when everyone was out, it must have been a mess. While shocking at how everything fell to pieces after one person had the guts to do something (she gets full credit for getting us in), it also didn't surprise me as this i the worst run convention ever, and, thankfully, that is not debatable. Everyone running it, from the lines to the autographs and to anything in between, should never be a part of it again.
