What is a Life Insurance Policy Owner?

The person who owns a life insurance policy. This is usually the insured person, but it may also be a relative of the insured, a partnership or a corporation.

In life insurance there are generally three people involved with the given life insurance policy:
The policy owner
The Insured
The Beneficiary or beneficiaries.

Often the owner and the insured are the same person often they are different it depends on the given situation in regards to the life policy.

Add in the fourth entity - the insurance carrier. The Insurance carrier is the company that underwrites the life insurance risk.
