Описание к видео PART 2 Trumpeter KING TIGER 2 in 1 16th scale kit BUILD - pt2

The continuing saga of a giant King TIger model kit and how it almost broke it's builder! lol! No, but seriously, this is one heck of a detailed and seriously time consuming model kit! It has come a long way since video part one... for more, click MORE

Please forgive the grainier portions of the video.

Special thanks go out to my model club, the Soque River Modelers, and for all the help, spirit and enthusiasm they lend me every day! Especially on this one! Thanks also to member and good friend Greg Kimsey, owner of our local modeling supply hot spot, The Artfull Barn, whose time spent on making me an original 3D printed machine gun set for the commander's cupola is something to be seen! It will be revealed in the finale.....

Some new techniques applied this go round...
This kit requires several areas to be pre-painted, since they will be built into the kit, and you can't get back at them, so portions of the interior, and the outer wheels, had to be painted in advance. And weathered! I am having to preselect the color palette of this build as well as pre-weather as I go, and one detail I have learned about tanks, especially those in battle, is how dirty they get inside!

So, I did what I could getting the colors right, and doing some rudimentary dings, dents and chips, and also had to make it all look klived and worked in. That led me to using some pigment powders I have had for a long time, but have never used.
I scored up the wheels, then brushed on the powder, a ruddy brown in this case, and then would wipe, so the white paint underneath would show through. And let me tell ya, I finally got the dirty effect I have been after for years!
Let me know what you think of the method later on, when I have a really GOOD clear video to show! lol!

Off to the races! Got more do do. ammo shelves, exterior details, the turret! (whichever one I am gonna use! Probably the Henschell design) and then, the final outer paint, and detailing and weathering!

Lots to do yet! I may be halfway there!
