Do Ji Han's role in "Hwarang", is Shilla's most powerful person Park Yeong-sil's son who is handsome, competitive, intelligent and has a strong ego. He is a cold-blooded Jin-gol who falls in love with his rival's sister and resembles "Romeo and Juliet" but in the Shilla version.

Why? Because Ban Ryu and Soo Yeon's families hate each other, their father were on different sides, but they still managed to fall deeply in love.

He is handsome and knowledgeable. However, he is a bit cold. He is the crankiest of them all. I hated Ban Ryu in the first episode but they've done a good job with exploring his character.

I think he is a very conflicted and much abused person who lives like a bully because he is afraid. He sees neglect, repression and ruthlessness towards the weak all around him so he is trying to disguise his own fear and weakness behind the cold image.

Ban Ryu is very stoic and straight faced, but I like Ban Ryu amongs all the Hwarang boys, because he's so intense and deep down has a beautiful heart, and he just needed time to open up a bit, and when he does it makes my heart swell, especially when he interacts with Soo Yeon.

The scary and cold Ban Ryu turned into a shy damsel when Soo Yeon is around. The boy is shy in front of his crush, which is too adorable. He acted so tough in the beginning, but he was so soft and shy in front of Soo Yeon.

I really like Do Ji Han's acting. He's not your typical jerk, he is pretty much conflicted and you can feel all that emotion bottled up inside him through his eyes. Even without a dialogue, those eyes already said everything.

He made me like Ban Ryu a lot, more than if he were played by another actor, partially because of that smile. He's gorgeous when he smiles.

And also because he did a really good job of portraying emotions on an ice-block character. I like him and his character is pretty interesting. The character Ban Ryu is interesting by itself, and it really helps that the actor (Do Ji Han) is making it work.

Because half the time it's expressionless or midly angry, and the other half is a shy dork. Which he does very well in both the butt grab scene, the wine bottle scene and the hair scene.

All in all, I simply believe that while everyone's (except for Go Ara) acting was very good, Do Ji Han's acting made me smile the most 😊

The actor (Do Ji Han) is doing a really great job that I wish Ban Ryu has more screentime as he is the most interesting character in the drama.

I admired Do Ji Han's acting when his expression moved from furious to shock to shy/embarrased in front of Soo Yeon. That guy really has talent.

I am rewatching Hwarang for those little precious Ban Ryu and Ban Ryu/Soo Yeon moments. Ban Ryu and Soo Yeon's moment loveline was one of the BEST PART of Hwarang.

I really can't seem to get enough of his lovely scenes with Soo Yeon and his bromance with Soo Ho.

Ban Ryu x Soo Yeon's scene kept me watching until the end cause I wanted to see them more, I still treasure Hwarang today because of them.

Well, Hwarang is one of the few dramas where I really like the supporting characters. Even they didn't have much screen time compared to the leads, the writers described them well and the actors left a marking impression.
