MUSKY FISHING FOR WEST VIRGINIA RIVER MUSKY OUT OF A JOHN BOAT!

In this video we hopped in my buddy's John boat and went fishing for musky in Wet Virginia. These musky are the apex predators in this body of water and catching them isn't easy. Fly Fishing and throwing huge streamers for them make it even more difficult, but it's how Micah and I committed to fishing on this particular day. Enjoy the video!

So I’ll be honest, despite the seemingly perfect weather conditions and the high confidence leading into the day the musky fishing wasn’t all that. We had moved 2 fish, one of which followed into the figure 8, but we had fished several miles of river without seeing a sign of life. We ended up having to float through a shallow section of water before we made it to the next good hole, which provided for some rather comical moments.

After making it through the riffles we finally locked in and started fishing again.

News flash… we didn’t catch any more musky. That was Micah’s first musky on the fly and the biggest musky he’s ever caught! And that’s just awesome be a part of, I’d honest rather him have caught that fish than myself. But it is pretty cool that he caught that musky directly behind me and casted in the exact same spot, just goes to show musky make no sense sometimes… or that black was the color of choice. Either way it was a blast to share that moment with Micah and I can’t wait get back out and chase musky again. Thanks for watching and I’ll catching you guys on the next video.
