Welcome to a live view of the beautiful Channel-Port aux Basques, Newfoundland, Canada. This webcam honours the memory of Mr. Tilley (known as The Catalogue Man), who spent countless hours in his rocking chair gazing at this very view with binoculars in hand. From here, he watched the Marine Atlantic ferry arriving and departing, recorded the storms rolling in, and carefully noted wind speeds and weather in his journal.

In tribute to Mr. Tilley’s life and love for this harbour, we’re sharing it with the world. Whether you are a local, a visitor, or simply longing to connect with the natural beauty and rhythms of Port aux Basques, this livestream offers a window into a place shaped by history, resilience, and community spirit.

About the Camera
This camera is attached to a house built in 1897. The building was the original Customs House for Port aux Basques, created to coincide with the completion of the Reid Railway in 1898. Its first occupants were the Pike family, followed by the Anderson family, and finally the Tilley family — with this stream dedicated to Mr. Tilley. We are now in the process of restoring the house to its original character and honouring its long history.

Stream Details
• The stream is restarted 2–3 times daily so recordings remain available in the video library. YouTube cannot archive streams longer than 12 hours.
• While every effort is made to keep the stream running, interruptions may occur due to power outages, storms, or occasional internet drops — part of daily life on the edge of the North Atlantic.
• Stream upgraded to HD October 27, 2025
