California Roll (Pentatonix) - VOCAL RANGE in The Masked Singer S9

Описание к видео California Roll (Pentatonix) - VOCAL RANGE in The Masked Singer S9

something something sad that PTX lost, here video.

In all seriousness it feels like I've jinxed this TMS series by making vocal ranges of singers that I was rooting for and lost. But hey, whatever. Ideally I would've wanted just one in the group to be on the show but I've come to understand that TMS in the US works more as a marketing tool rather than an actual talent show and you know what, that's fine. PTX did their thing and then went "hey you guys are fine with us using instruments now?" and received an excited yes. So, yeah.

ABOUT THE TERMINOLOGY OF THIS VIDEO:
In this video my goal is to gather a representative sample of the vocal range of each Pentatonix member on their run at The Masked Singer as the California Roll. To achieve that, I've divided the video in three major sections for each register (low notes, high chest/mixed notes and upper register aka falsetto, head voice, whistle register, etc), and in each of these sections there are five smaller divisions corresponding to each Pentatonix member (in order: Matt, Kevin, Scott, Mitch and Kirstin). These are identifiable for the captions appearing in the top and bottom edges of the video, and also in YouTube "chapters"
In each small section I provide a clip show of some examples of significant notes from that register and to one specific member, arranged from high-to-low in the "low chest notes" section, and low-to-high in the "high chest/mixed" and "upper register" sections. The pitches are highlighted in big white text when it appears in the clip, and the exclamation mark (!) indicates the lowest/highest note in the section (the former for low notes, the later for the chest/mix and upper register).
Additionally, captions are placed under the notes when said pitch is not easily listenable in the main vocal line (or "solo"). They correspond to the following:
BACKGROUND: the identified pitch is in a different vocal line, serving as a background to the main vocal line.
HARMONIZED: the identified pitch is in a different vocal line being sung alongside the main vocal line, yet harmonizing with it.
UNISON: the identified pitch is in a different vocal line, being sung alongside and in the same pitch as the main vocal line.
OCTAVE UNISON: the the identified pitch is in a different vocal line, being sung alongside the main vocal line in the "same" pitch, yet in a different octave.

This video was very challenging to do precisely for the presence of instrumentals in every song, and that's the reason why I'm sadly dreading the future of this group. But hey, I'll do my best, and hopeful you guys will be gentle with me. If you have any corrections to make please drop them in the comments. Enjoy! :)
