In the royal dining hall, an aged Viserys removes the gold mask from the right side of his face and asks his family to see him as he is—not only a king, but a father, brother, husband, and grandsire. He pleads for grievances to be set aside: the crown cannot stand strong if the House of the Dragon remains divided. The room falls quiet beneath the weight of his words. 

For a fleeting spell, it works. Cups are raised, smiles return, and the family laughs and dances—brief peace at a table that has long known knives. (The hope is fragile enough to shatter the moment the king leaves the room.) 

That night, Viserys dies in his bed. His final kindness becomes the spark for the war to come; his wish for unity goes unanswered, and the house remains divided.
