Chalk school is in session!!! 😅💕

14 Chalks in under a year!???!!?? What? Oh my goodness I’ve invested so much money, effort, time, energy, strength in this quest to find chalks. It started off as a quest to find/make the perfect Asmr chalk and has now doubled as a quest to find as many nice chalk textures as possible, but perhaps 14 chalks is where I draw the line because this ain’t cheap 😅. Special thanks to you all for supporting this journey, especially my sweet subscriber R who donated some money specifically for the Alphabet Chalk R&D fund 😂😂💕💕.

Now let’s break it down. Before we do so, I encourage everyone to check out Juliet’s breakdown on each chalk in the comments on the video for November borns, pt1. Talk about my A** student. Quite impressive. 💕💕

Inspired by ‪@chalk_it_upkym‬ ‘s commentary style let’s break down these chalks

A chalk
Good part: when it’s like this, soft snowy buttery, it’s perfect in every way as a chalk
Bad part: limited stock, they may stop producing this chalk for unknown reasons and it’s also much more expensive than the usual chalks so the future is unclear. I still have a few blocks in stock so let’s enjoy this while it lasts 💕

B chalk
Good part: the only manufactured chalk that is probably on the same level as (or better than) BSN
Bad part: no more stock. they cannot make it consistent, 70-80% of them are hard and uncrushable so I don’t buy it anymore. And these pieces are among my very last pieces left. Ah well…

C chalk
Good part: underdog deliciously crunchy chalk
Bad part: crunchy firm texture means difficult to do mass crushes

D chalk
Good part: a fav, nice texture, good balance of crunchy vs soft, I could crush this all day
Bad part: my personal stock is finished, I have maybe 3 blocks left 😭

E chalk: easy grip gritty cratery texture reigns until I can find a similar chalk but really I don’t think I’ll bother because this easy grip is a unique beautiful texture which is affordable (shipping not included), accessible and I have a nice relationship (and discount code) with them😍

F chalk:
Good part: flour packed goodness, soft, off white colour, generally yummy
Bad part: F, F+, FP is confusing so I will just say F from now on because they are basically the same

G chalk
Good part: a nice unique texture when it’s softish, so so good (thanks Guilia ‪@chalkitasmr‬)
Bad part: I didn’t get a good batch as the one Giulia usually gets so the blocks are mainly medium to hard (although occasionally I find perfect blocks like the ones seen in this video 🤤)

H Chalk
Good part : I can make it at home
Bad part: loooooong having to make it myself 😅
Best part: I love it and I can make it myself haha

I chalk
F chalk but make it slightly crunchier with a lovely crunch that follows through
No bad part really, I mean sometimes they are firmer and denser than one would like but it’s an amazing chalk to dye so I love it so much

J chalk
J for jumbo
Good part: unique in size and style
Bad part: who wants to be crushing a hard jumbo block? Absolutely no one. So unless it’s super soft or at least softish as seen in this video, it’s difficult to get behind it
Another bad part: they cannot make the soft one consistently 😤

K chalk: krispy shards chalk
Good part: I can’t believe we thought this was similar to D, now we see it’s totally different. It breaks up into basically shards in such a nice and structured way. I LOVE it.
Bad part: so far not really finding any.

L chalk: what the heck is this?? I guess it’s like a K wanna be? A firmer K? K’s annoying little sister? lol. Nothing good to say about this really expect that I’ve asked them to substitute this chalk with a different texture because frankly this is not what I saw and approved in the sampling stage of this process 🤦‍♀️😅

M: moulded freshies. Only good things to say. Refer to H.

N: newest chalk on the block 😉. Hehe. So this is a feeble attempt to remake B. When dyed it is almost identical to B. When fresh it’s also sooooo powdery just like B, but not as snowy white. However I note that this is NOT off white. It’s more white than F and I. It’s like a pearly white. And the texture is like really really soft fine beach sand. Or powdered sugar. And it’s tightly compressed into a chalk block. It feels soooo nice and fluffy and silky but with a certain grit. I don’t know how to explain. I LOVE IT. I’ve asked for certain modifications and they claim they will try to make those modifications so let’s stay positive.

All in all, I’m so proud of us for getting this far. Above all I’m thankful to God for having the opportunity and resources to do this. What a privilege and honour. It shows how much I really love Chalk ASMR because to spend this much on a chalk search is ….not normal? 😅💕
