Kobalt 24v String Trimmer with an EGO Rapid Reload Head installed AH1530

I like the size and weight of the Kobalt 24v trimmer when the battery and head are installed. The head that came with it, not so much.
I have been using my Kobalt trimmer for 2 years with an Echo SpeedFeed 400 head and it has worked great. The only real drawback is it doesn't give much protection for the electric motor. You can't faulting it for this since it wasn't designed for the Kobalt.
I happened to see this EGO Rapid Reload head AH1530 at work. It looked identical to the original head that comes on the Kobalt 24v trimmer. Based on this I ordered one.
Note: there are some on Ebay for $20+ shipping. Search EGO AH1530.
Sure enough the mounting is the same: Clockwise rotation and 8mm indexed shaft. It even has the same part number on the bottom.
The EGO AH1530 sales for just under $40 new (Amazon, Lowes and ACE Hardware).
It has to be AH1530. There are other ones that look similar but they are for a different trimmer.
The AH1530 replaces the AH1500 which should work also.

The Echo SpeedFeed head is still a very good trimmer head. I just think the EGO AH1530 gives the motor better protection. My only dislike of the EGO head is how hard it is to take apart and put back together. The SpeedFeed was fairly easy to remove the cap. It made for switching line size easy.

After the demo, I switched back to the .095 line. I think the motor is not strong enough to support it. The grass was a bit moist even though it looked dry.

At 5:20 I make a comment about the disc inside the cap being what allows for loading the head from any point. - I'm full on crap. It is for racketing in the line. I'm not sure how they allow it to load from any point. It is a nice feature.
