Описание к видео Thomas Edison: The Innovative Inventor and Businessman

Thomas #Edison (February 11, 1847 – October 18, 1931) was an #American inventor, #scientist, and businessman who is widely regarded as one of the most influential figures of the Second Industrial Revolution. He was born in Milan, Ohio and raised in Port Huron, Michigan. Edison developed many devices that greatly influenced life around the world, including the electric power utilities, motion picture cameras, and long-lasting and practical electric light bulbs. He is often referred to as America's greatest inventor and is credited with holding 1,093 U.S. patents for his inventions.

Edison's Early Life and Education

Thomas Edison was born to Samuel and Nancy Edison on February 11, 1847, in Milan, Ohio. He was the last of seven children and grew up in a poor family. Edison was a curious and energetic child and showed an early interest in science and machinery. He was also known to be hard of hearing, which made him a target of ridicule and contributed to him being homeschooled. Despite these challenges, Edison's parents encouraged his thirst for knowledge, and he became an avid reader, devouring books on science, history, and geography.

Edison's early entrepreneurial spirit emerged when he was only 12 years old and began selling newspapers and candy on trains. He also set up a chemistry laboratory in the family's basement and conducted experiments, which sometimes resulted in explosions and fires.

At the age of 15, Edison became a telegraph operator and began to travel throughout the United States and Canada. He honed his skills as a telegraph operator and soon became one of the fastest and most accurate in the country. His work as a telegraph operator gave him exposure to the latest technological advancements of the time and inspired him to pursue a career in invention and innovation.
