Waste Management Tour of Recology Recycling in San Francisco

Many of us think of waste as gone once it's in the right garbage bin. This video shows us how the RECOLOGY recycling facility in San Francisco is able to manage the waste of more than a million people every day by separating compost, recyclables, and landfill. San Francisco has been able to divert 80% of its waste from landfills due to the RECOLOGY infrastructure and initiatives- there is so much to learn here in terms of recycling as well as job creation and boosting local economies by more effectively managing waste.

I really appreciate the opportunity to learn about Recology's initiatives and I hope it can inspire other areas in Japan and across the world to adopt similar waste management initiatives that have a focus on greater sustainability and long-term success.
