Delicious Kids’ Trifles:
Mud Cake Trifle, Banana Bread Trifle & Vanilla Cake Trifle

These individual kids’ trifles are quick and easy to make and are best pre-made and kept refrigerated until serving. Cake slices suggested in this recipe each meet QLD Smart Choices Amber criteria.

For an alternative you can replace the Vanilla Cake Slice with the Mini Choc Mud Cake or the Mini Banana Bread and use fruit to complement. Each slice comes individually wrapped for your convenience.

Ingredients
• 12 Homestyle Bake QLD Smart Choices Vanilla Cake Slices individually wrapped
• Low Fat pre-prepared Custard
• 1 tin (800g) Fruit Salad in natural juice (drained but keep the Juice!)
• Strawberries, blueberries or similar in season
• 12 plastic cups and spoons

Method
1. Remove the Homestyle Bake Vanilla Cake Slices from the wrapping. Using gloves break up each slice and place into the base of the cups using 1 slice per cup.

2. Spoon two tablespoons of fruit salad. Add some of the juice on top of the sponge for additional flavour and place a few cut strawberries or blueberries for additional colour.

3. On top of the fruit spoon ¼ cup custard per cup.

4. Top with sliced strawberries and blueberries or your chosen selected seasonal fruit.

5. Place in the fridge for the flavour to develop.
