The Rusty Nail made its first appearance at the British Industries Fair but under the name B.I.F. The cocktail was not popular, and slowly disappeared.

Then out of nowhere the cocktail was introduced into the states and quickly became a huge hit. Then in the 1960's bartenders at the "21 Club" in Manhattan gave the cocktail the name Rusty Nail.

It's one of few drinks to feature a liqueur called Drambuie, which is a scotch based liqueur with spices honey and herbs.

RECIPE: Rusty Nail

2oz | 60ml Blended Scotch
.75oz | 22.5ml Drambuie
Bitters is optional, especially for some who do not have much of a sweet tooth!


Add ice to rocks glass
Add ingredients
Stir 10-20 Seconds
It's not traditional, but I do enjoy a lemon peel for a garnish.

ENJOY!

*Note: Drambuie is a sweet flavor, so experiment with how much you put into your Rusty Nail to best fit your palate!
