A tropical cyclone has formed off the Northern Territory coast in the southern Gulf of Carpentaria, according to the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM).
Tropical Cyclone Lincoln is expected to cross the coast as a category one system between Port McArthur and the Northern Territory-Queensland border on Friday afternoon.
The warning zone extends from Bing Bong in the NT to Mornington Island in Queensland.
