This is a dialogue between Alexs Pate and David Mura on Pate's career as a novelist and his work on the Innocent Classroom a program designed to address the racial achievement gap by training teachers to improve their relationships with students of color.  The dialogue was made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.  The event was co-sponsored by The Loft and the Givens Foundation.  The event is part of a series of dialogues on race and the arts curated by David Mura.  Video recording by Mark Tang.
