The siblings of Deacon George Raymond Glenn are deeply saddened to inform you of our brother’s passing. Our brother peacefully transitioned from earth to glory, early Saturday morning, March 28, 2020 from Ascension Providence Hospital, Southfield, MI. His death resulting from complications associated with COVID19.
Deacon Glenn had a generous supply of wisdom and wit, business acumen, and initiative. He was one of the first African Americans to own and operate his own Shell Service & Gas Station, 6 Mile & James Couzens, in Detroit during the early 1970's to 1990's. He was a classic and sports car enthusiast, having earned several national and local auto show honors. The volumes of his accomplishments and successes are numerous. He possessed a generous heart, open to giving of his gifts and talents. He was baptized and filled with the precious Holy Ghost in his youth. He served the Lord at his church Greater Grace Temple, pastored by the late Bishop David L. Ellis, beginning in the early 1960’s, and currently Bishop Charles H. Ellis III. He faithfully supported the ministry of Calvary Apostolic Church, Pastor Gary Green, until his departure from labor to reward.
We are grateful that God allowed him seventy-eight years to enjoy a spiritually-fulfilling and naturally prosperous life. His two daughters, Dana and (Rhonda-who preceded him in death), and one granddaughter, LaRhonda, were his pride and joy.
The current mandate from national and state government will render it extremely challenging to make arrangements which include the public. Ellis Funeral Home, ellisfuneralhomeinc.com has been entrusted with the final care of Deacon Glenn. Continued prayers, support, love, and virtual hugs are appreciated.
