Busting two common hair myths:

❌Lemon does not reduce dandruff
It causes irritation to the scalp and may temporarily reduce scalp oiliness but makes condition worse in the long run.
Better to use an antidandruff shampoo with ingredients like ketoconazole, zinc pyrithione, selenium sulphide etc.

❌Onion juice for hair growth
Online was used to treat alopecia areata. It is a condition where there is loss of hair in circular patches. It is an autoimmune condition where certain cells in the skin kill the hair roots. Application of onion oil in these conditions helped as it causes irritation to the skin and stimulated hair growth. In case of patterned hair loss or hairfall onion does not have a role in hair growth. No the sulphur in onion is not going to strengthen sulphide bonds in hair.
If you have hair fall, we need to find the underlying condition and treat.
