Galloping Ghost Arcade recently added this game to their arcade floor, after featuring it in last years' annual T20 tournament. Similar to Capcom's Red Earth / Warzard, this is a "boss rush" game where you fight against massive enemy characters that you cannot play as. Additionally, 2 players can team up and take on the computer together.

There are 3 characters available to pick, each fitting neatly into the standard fighting game archetypes. Kaiohmaru is the strong but slow fighter who packs the biggest punch. Yukihime is the fast, nimble warrior priestess who I chose to use. Tenchimaru is the balanced type with average strength and speed in comparison to the other two characters.

The game is pretty enjoyable, even though there's some excessive flashing and slowdown at times. The large boss sprite are really nice looking, you can see where Capcom got inspiration from Banpresto's efforts in this game.

The first couple of fights are pretty simple. The later battles get much harder and require some A.I. abuse strategies because of how much damage the computer fighters can do to you.
