Today I wanted to paint something a little different… my idea of heaven.

In this real-time, 25 minute oil painting, I create a warm sunset river scene on a circular surface and talk about what I picture when I think of the people I’ve lost – dads, granddads, and good friends – out there fishing and waiting for us.

This video is dedicated to a dear friend who lost their dad, and to anyone who’s missing someone they hope to see again one day. My hope is that painting (or just watching) this peaceful landscape brings you a little comfort and a quiet place to breathe.

PS – you may notice the brightness shift a bit in this one. I accidentally left auto-brightness on while filming. Oops. Lesson learned… but this moment meant too much not to share.
