Hey guys!!! Your good buddy Uncle Ben here has been on a HUGE 80's hair metal kick lately, as i've been prepping for my first shows back with Skankbanger (me and Andy Wood's 80's tribute band)!!!! One of the songs we have added to our set list is Lay it Down by RATT, so i did my usual deep dive to make sure i was nailing all of Warren Demartini hot licks! So, of course, i gotta share the wealth with you all and give you a total breakdown lesson on how to play this legendary solo!

Tuning is drop D, but you don't really have to tune that low E down to play this solo, as it never touches the low E. Be sure to watch Weekend Wankshop 192 for a breakdown on how to play that amazing intro riff, too. This solo has a lot of really fun licks and phrasing ideas, so be sure to learn it note for note to reap all the benefits!!!
