One of the reasons that home prices have risen is competition among buyers with both owner occupants and corporate entities buying homes. This will cause a reset in the housing market since the factors previously used to determine home prices are not accurate. This will also create a class of life long renters as homes become less and less affordable.

Rising rents are also likely to strain the budgets of non homeowners. The wealth divide between owners and renters will continue to grow.
