VIDEO CONTENTS:

Dharma Acid Dye Brilliant Yellow
1 gram of dye for 600 grams of yarn (0.16% DOS)
Dissolve the dye in hot tap water
[3:25] The yarn and plan for the first dyeing step
KnitPicks Stroll Fingering weight yarn. Presoaked overnight in some plain tap water
[4:44] The Cool Vat Setup
5 gallon bucket 3/4 full of water + 1 g of dye (dissolved earlier) + 600 g yarn. No acid added at first
Let the yarn sit with the dye for at least 1 hour
[7:45] Adding acid
Set the yarn aside, add 2 cups of white vinegar, stir into the dyebath, and then add the yarn back in.
Cover the bucket and leave it outside for 18-48 hours
[10:31] Removing the yarn from the cool vat
gently remove liquid so the yarn is damp but not dripping for the speckling step
[11:55] Mixing Dye Powder with Citric Acid for Speckles
1 T citric acid powder + a little powder of Saffron Spice, True Black, or Emerald Green

Steam set the yarn, 3 skeins to a pot for 30 min on the stove top
