Our guest this week is Dr. Tim Machan, PT, DPT, SCS, OCS, COMT, CSCS. Dr. Machan joins True Sports PT Podcast host Dr. Yoni Rosenblatt, PT, DPT, OCS, CSCS, USAW, Cert. DN, to discuss who is right for a sports PT residency and what residency is right for you!

The two also discuss how to get accepted into a residency and they dive into the details of what daily life looks like as a resident. Dr. Machan is the former
Program Director University of Cincinnati (UC) Sports Physical Therapy Residency and is the current Director of Integrated High Performance with the Rutgers University Big Ten Football program.

At Rutgers, Dr. Machan oversees sports medicine, strength and conditioning, the football team’s nutrition program as well as mental health, with an emphasis on coordination collaboration among departments.

More About Dr. Machan

According to his biography on the Rutgers University football website, Dr. Machan spent four years at UC, where he oversaw the care of more than 500 student-athletes across 19 Division I programs as Director of Rehabilitation for the Bearcats’ sports medicine program.

Prior to his arrival at UC, Machan worked as a sports physical therapist with 5th Special Forces Group (Fort Campbell, Kentucky), EXOS (Fort Bragg, North Carolina) and True Sports Physical Therapy.
