Joe felt that it was her duty to save the girls, and so she committed the blunder of going after them. I say “blunder” not because she broke the chain of command but because of what happened at the end of the Lioness season 2 episode. Joe and his team tracked down the traffickers, but in the end, one of them came forward and blew himself up, probably killing all those who were with him. Joe survived, and the look on her face told us that she was not expecting a suicide bombing. In the subsequent episodes, we will get to know how Joe’s bosses react after they get to know about the bombing, but one thing’s sure: they won’t be very happy about it.
