BandQuest composer Michael Gandolfi works with director Laura Bouix and band students at Roland Hayes School of Music in Roxbury Crossing, MA on 'Steps Ahead' during his residency.

BandQuest® is a music series and accompanying curriculum for middle-level band, written by world-class composers. The series is designed to breathe new life into the available repertoire for band students in middle school and junior high, introduce students to the composition process, and give commissioned composers the unique opportunity and challenge of writing new works for young instrumentalists.

'Steps Ahead' was published by the American Composers Forum and is distributed nationwide by the Hal Leonard Corporation.
