Developing story, casualties unknown at this time and cause of the ship contacting the bridge is unknown at this time.

Edit 7:53 am EDT: 2 people have been rescued from the water. At least 7 missing.

Edit 10:55 am EDT: 6 people remain unaccounted for. 8 people total were on the bridge when the incident occurred. The ship sent out a mayday call before colliding with the bridge, according to Maryland Governor Wes Moore.

Edit 11:34 pm EDT: As of 7:59 pm EDT, all 6 missing persons that were working on the bridge are presumed dead. Search will continue Wednesday (3/27/2024). The two rescued are well enough to be out of the hospital.

Edit 8:34 pm EDT March 27, 2024: Bodies of 2 of the workers on the bridge have been recovered. 4 people remain missing, presumed dead at this time.
