About the movie
Kolya Evlashkin met Nadezhda at the station. He tried to bring her bag to the bus, but the crowd separated them, and Kolya drove off alone. Nadezhda, on the other hand, gave chase in a police UAZ. And since Nikolai had been released from prison only two weeks ago, he was given the warmest welcome at the police station ...
Nevertheless, Nadya believed in the sincerity of Yevlashkin, took the application, and Kolya went with her to the village of Bukhalovo (“oh, and the name that speaks to you ...”), since he had nowhere else to go. The vacancies in the village were not so hot, I had to get a job as a milker on a farm. Nadya didn't let him in, because there was already one man in the house: Nadya's twelve-year-old but very serious son Romka.
A few days later, Nikolai got into serious trouble: a couple of thieves cut off the electric cable that powered the farm with all its milking equipment. Yevlashkin, who tried to stop lawlessness, received a tire iron in the forehead and thundered into the hospital. From that moment, a noticeable warming of relations between him and Nadezhda began. But Romka stood up to his death: he and his mother suffered everything from his father, a drunkard, so he will not tolerate a former criminal in the family.
Nikolai did not argue: he quit the milking, said goodbye to new acquaintances and got on the first bus to the regional center. Only the jaws played on his cheekbones when through the rear window he looked at Nadezhda, who had come running to say goodbye to the bus stop ...

О фильме
Коля Евлашкин познакомился с Надеждой на вокзале. Он пытался поднести ей сумку до автобуса, но толпа разъединила их, и Коля укатил один. Надежда же бросилась в погоню на милицейском УАЗике. А поскольку Николай всего две недели как освободился из тюрьмы, прием в отделении милиции ему был устроен самый теплый…
Тем не менее, в искренность Евлашкина Надя поверила, заявление забрала, и поехал с ней Коля в деревню Бухалово («ох, и говорящее у вас название…»), поскольку больше ехать ему было некуда. С вакансиями в селе было не ахти, пришлось устроиться на ферму дояром. На постой Надя его не пустила, поскольку один мужчина в доме уже был: двенадцатилетний, но очень серьезный сын Нади Ромка.
Через несколько дней Николай попал в серьезную передрягу: пара ворюг обрезала электрический кабель, питавший ферму со всем ее доильным оборудованием. Пытавшийся пресечь беззаконие Евлашкин получил монтировкой в лоб и загремел в больницу. С этого момента началось заметное потепление отношений между ним и Надеждой. Но Ромка встал насмерть: от отца-алкаша они с матерью натерпелись всякого, так что бывшего уголовника он в семье не потерпит.
Николай не стал спорить: уволился из дояров, попрощался с новыми знакомыми и сел в первый же автобус до райцентра. Только желваки играли на его скулах, когда через заднее стекло он смотрел на Надежду, прибежавшую проститься на остановку…
