Here you can see the manufacturing process for our rubber tubing.

The raw material, fresh from our mill is fed into the extruder where it is heated. A big screw forces the compound through the die, forming the rubber tube. It is then cooled and moves along the conveyor belt before it is spooled into coils.

At this stage in the process the rubber is still not cured. The coils are then placed into an Autoclave Machine where is it is heated again to a high temperature, curing the rubber. Curing, also known as vulcanization, causes the long polymer chains that rubber is composed of to become crosslinked. This prevents the chains from moving independently, allowing the material to stretch under stress and then return to its original shape when the stress is released.
