Elly Prestegård; Large-scale Washi Pulp Painting at Awagami Factory

Awagami Factory welcomed Norwegian, Elly Prestegard to the mill as a visiting artist in April, 2024. During her stay in Tokushima, Elly collaborated with Awagami master papermakers to produce a series of colorful large-scale "pulp paintings".
With her papermaking skill and confidence steadily improving during her stay, Elly achieved some impressive artistice results.

In an ongoing effort to push the boundaries of Japanese washi paper, Awagami Factory collaborates with contemporary artists, designers, photographers and architects around the world. The mill is also open to the public Tues.-Sun. where visitors can also try their hand at washi papermaking. More Information at www.awagami.com
