The amazing and truly spectacular Caminito del Rey, outside the town of El Churro in Andalusia.

This hike will take about 2 hours to complete, and you must pre-book online to guarantee your place, as slots are very limited. The hike is about 1.5 - 2 hours to complete, and you can either do it in groups or on your own. Be aware, there are very strict safety rules, such as compulsory wearing of hard hats for the entire 7km gorge duration.

It is an epic trip, and really fully recommended for anyone who loves spectacular geography, the highlights are the start and the end of the gorge. The section in the middle is a pleasant but less dramatic section.

My advice is to go for a day where there are no cruise ships in Malaga, or if there are cruise ships go in the afternoon, as there were a few too many coach loads there in the morning when I went. I went in November and the temperature was perfect, but in the summer I could imagine that it would be crazy hot, with limited shade and water availability.
