AC Helmet For Traffic Police: The Kolkata Police has recently started trials of air conditioned helmets for its traffic guards. The Kolkata Police authority was looking forward to provide some relief from the heat to its on ground personnel. The Lalbazar authority has started its trial in Kolkata after Ahmedabad and Andhra Police.
The helmet that runs on battery can provide backup for 8 hours after one full charge. These are expected to filter dust particles as well.
However, the Kolkata Police authority is closely monitoring if there are any adverse effects of these helmets in a person's body. Police personnel deployed in the Park Street crossing have started its usage already.
