She shares her journey of love, grief, celebration, and choices. She dwells on the wonderful times she got to experience with her best friend, philosopher, guide, and confidant, her husband Avinash. She speaks about the pursuit of happily ever after, its substantial loss, and how to not lose yourself amongst such testing times always looking forward to a silver lining. Her pregnancy gave her a new purpose. After all the shock, anger, frustration, and denial she decided to be happy for the sake of both her child and herself. Although this grief wasn’t as indifferent to her as before, this time she had to face it alone and expresses the roller coaster ride she went through to cope with it. She believes “This too shall pass” and explains how personal and subjective grief is and only you can get yourself to work through it with some help. Her values, beliefs, and Vipassana with efforts helped her with the constant support she had in her father, in-laws, friends, and neighbors. The healing process is long and tedious but at a point, you need to look away from the happiness you associate with others and find it in yourself. Neha Sharma Iyer is an Indian film Actress, Radio Jockey, and Television Presenter, who has worked predominantly in the Malayalam movie industry. Some of her work includes popular movies like Ribbon and Tharangam. But life took a turn for her when she received the best news and the worst news of her life in the same week- she found out she was pregnant with her first child but unfortunately lost her husband to a cardiac arrest after five days of receiving the happy news. She didn’t succumb to the difficulties suddenly occurring in her path but showed what infinite impossibilities a woman can attain single-handedly. She is a grief survivor who has fought against all odds and is a proud single mother; we believe her story will genuinely inspire many.
