Alpine Skier Sabrina Simader was Kenya's sole representative at this year's Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, Korea. As the first Kenyan woman to compete in an Winter Olympics and the first African woman to compete in an alpine skiing event, she carried the hopes of Africans and inspired many around the world. Behind her accomplishment was a Korean company that supported her to train and take part in the Games, displaying the true embodiment of the Olympic spirit of unity.

On "The Diplomat" this week, we meet Kenyan Ambassador to Korea Mohamed Gello to learn more about Kenya, the world's wildlife capital, and the financial and technological hub for East Africa, the country's determination to be the "South Korea" of Africa, and the status of the two countries' cooperation across the fields of agriculture and IT, along with Simader's accomplishment in Pyeongchang.
