Plastic-ABS Plastic-ABS is thermoplastic amorphous tercopolymer of acrylonitrile, butadiene and styrol, also called acrylonitrile-butadiene plastic. It relates to engineering plastics, has higher impact resistance if compared with high-impact polystyrene and other styrene copolymers. Also its advantages are better mechanical strength, wear resistance and toughness. The maximum temperature of a prolonged exploitation: 75-80°С. It resists alkalies, lubricants, solutions of inorganic salts and acids, hydrocarbons, fats and petrols. It solves in acetone, aether, benzol, ethyl chloride, ethylene chloride, aniline, anisole. It doesn't resist ultraviolet rays. Plastic-ABS is produces stabilized in white granules or powder. It's reprocessed in all known ways, but oftener by pressure die casting and extruding. Due to optimal combination of elasticity and shock resistance, this plastic is one of the most popular for production of sophisticated moulded articles with high draw-forming and accuracy of manufacturing. In automobile industry interior and exterior details of a car are produced of plastic-ABS. In instrument making plastic-ABS is used as constructional material for production of cabinets of electrical accessories and tools, accumulators. In food industry plastic-ABS is used as dishware. Moreover, a lot of other useful things are made of plastic-ABS.
