As part of the H&M Foundation Schools WASH program, WaterAid ran a three-week participatory photography workshop with eight teenagers in the Thatta region of south-eastern Pakistan. Over the course of the first week, the students were inculcated with basic photography skills such as composition and lighting along with interview techniques and case study writing.

Armed with a camera and this know-how the students documented life in an area of Pakistan that is struggling to handle the day to day impact of climate change. Due to geography, high dependence on agriculture and limited water resources communities around Thatta in the Sindh Province have been significantly affected by changes in the climate. Flooding, salinisation of groundwater and high temperatures are all on the increase, with devastating consequence.
