In this video, we will go over power supply wattages and voltages. We will also show you how to replace or upgrade a power supply for you system. Firstly, for wattages, there are three options: 495W, 750W, and 1100W. For servers that require a lot of power, 750W or 1100W is the way to go. For voltages, there are two options which are 110v and 220v. When buying a power supply for your Dell R530, the voltage is something to pay attention to. If you purchase the wrong voltage for your connection type, then you system will not be able to turn on. Power supplies for the PowerEdge R530 are hotswap, meaning you can take out a power supply while your system is powered on, as long as one power supply remains in the system.
