Vacuum Table Version 2

Описание к видео Vacuum Table Version 2

I recently shrunk my CNC's bed size back down to 32" x 30" so I decided to improve my vacuum table from version 1. This table uses the shop vac's suction directed through two holes in the CNC's table. Each hole has a valve to control both on or just one to direct airflow. I use window spline in the grooves to further direct/restrict the air. It's a cheap & great working way to create a vacuum table for $100.

Supplies:
- Shop vac (FEIN Turbo 2)
- 1.25" PVC pipe
- 3/4" thick sheet of MDF cut to size
- Window spline (0.14" diameter)

Process:
1. Cut your MDF sheet to size & screw to your bottom-board
2. Plan this sheet so entire surface is perfectly flat to router
3. Design & run your vacuum table file in your software (VCarve Pro). I used a line width & cut depth of 0.125". Use a square layout & add diagonal lines to your holes for more even airflow.
4. Run your piping from your table down to your valves & to your shop vac
5. Now that your table is complete we need to create a true wasteboard.
6. Cut down another piece of 1/2" thick MDF underneath to create the air-tight seal.
7. Plan down BOTH sides of the 1/2" MDF (0.03-0.05" each).
8. Now you have your vacuum table & wasteboard ready to go!
