According to sources, the rule should be enforced not only in the case of Central or CBSE Board TETs, but also in various states where teachers are taking eligibility tests. However, the state has not yet responded to the Centre's plan.
Experts believe that the new rules will give a lifetime validity certificate to those who have passed the TET. However, the recruitment process for the upper primary has not been completed in the state yet. Although the provisional merit list of upper primary was published before Pujo last year, a case was filed alleging discrepancy and opacity. Then the Calcutta High Court issued a stay order on the merit list. School Service Commission (SSC) sources said that the hearing on the suspension order has reached its final stage. It is learned that the verdict of the case may be given after Pujo.
Those who have already passed the CTET exams conducted by TET and CBSE boards in different states will have a legal discussion on whether their certificates will last a lifetime. However, the chairman of the school service commission thinks that there is no possibility of TET or teacher eligibility test in this state now. There is, of course, a possibility of a primary TET. However, the decision will be taken after the official notification of the National Council for Teacher Education on whether the examination will be under the new rules, the source said.
