Manufacturing Properties of Materials Part 2

Описание к видео Manufacturing Properties of Materials Part 2

In this two-part lecture series, we review the critical aspects of material properties as they relate to manufacturing processes and design.

Lecture 1: Mechanical and Physical Properties of Materials This lecture provides an in-depth review of key material properties such as strength, stiffness, toughness, hardness, durability, weight, heat and electrical conductivity, corrosiveness, appearance, feel, cost, and safety. We discuss how each of these factors influences the design and manufacturing of components, providing a solid foundation for material selection in engineering applications.

Lecture 2: Material Categories in Manufacturing Building on the first lecture, this session explores the properties of four major categories of materials: metals, polymers, ceramics, and composites. We examine how each material type behaves under various manufacturing processes, offering insights into their advantages and limitations in different industrial applications.
