Описание к видео Milo Art vs Milo PRO Markers Comparison

Hey Artnerds! Today we're comparing the Milo Art markers we reviewed previously to the Milo Pro markers.

Milo Art Markers Unbox and Swatch:    • Affordable Art Markers: Milo Art Mark...
Milo Art Markers Fieldtest:    • Making the Most of Cheap Markers: Mil...

Sent to me by Milo to compare with the Milo Art Markers I previously reviewed. While these markers were sent for comparison, I was not compensated in any other way for this comparison.

Shownotes:

Sent two packs- 24 color set and 12 color set- PRO Markers
12 Color Set- $16.90 on Amazon: https://amzn.to/37dbAj5
24 Color set- $29.90 on Amazon: https://amzn.to/32SEmSI

$1.02 per marker if you buy both sets

Art Markers-
24 Color set- $24.90 on Amazon: https://amzn.to/37fhEYf
48 color set- $44.90 on Amazon: https://amzn.to/37dgFYM

$.97 per marker if you buy both sets

These are made with flexible rubber nibs and promise to be refillable and utilize replacement nibs, although I haven't seen listings for replacement nibs or refill inks. If you can refill these, you can probably refill the Art markers, or any markers with this color system and body type.

Although listing says refillable and replacable nibs, I cannot find these for sale on Amazon or on the Milo site.

Packaging:
24 color set is very similar to the Milo Art Markers 48 color set- arrive plastic wrapped. 12 color set in card box with just a tape dot to seal it- I prefer this method of packaging.

Since these are pro markers, it would be cool if they came in a 36 slot box, with space for the additional 12 markers.

Shipped from Amazon.

Boxes are fairly minimal- color examples on back of box

Milo Pro vs Milo Art

Packaging is very similar- only slight differences in branding

24 Pro set seems to contain entirely different colors from the 48 Art set- this is a little weird.

Are we supposed to start with the Art and use the Pro to augment?

Some repeat colors in the 12 color set.

Duplicate colors- 24 piece set/48 piece set:

22- French Vermillion
120- Black (also in the 12 piece set--why?)
81- Deep Violet

Duplicate colors- 12 piece/48 piece
101- Yellow Ochre
120-Black
11- Carmine
23- Orange
46- Vivid Green
63- Cerulean Blue
71 Cobalt Blue
81- Deep Violet
87- Azalea Purple
91- Natural Oak

(LOT of duplicates b/w the 12 piece pro and 48 piece art sets, but its not an exact match)

Really curious about their thought process regarding their color selection- which colors are in the Art line, which are in the Pro, and why there are two blacks in the Pro line?

NOTE: Sets within each line are supposed to compliment each other, for example buying the 24 and 48 color sets in the Art line would give you the full color range available in the Art Line. Given that there are some duplicates between sets in the same line, I'm a bit confused as to how many total colors Milo offers. THey have an 80 piece bullet and chisel nib set, which seems to be the largest set available from Milo.

Side by side comparison

Pro
Foam rubber tip- same as the new Artist Loft tip
Same body as Art- save for body screening
Same color family, color cap
Same chisel tip

Art
Fiber brush tip

Only real difference seems to be color selection and included tip

Pro tip has some flex, has a slight rubbery 'resist' as you apply color to the page. Art tip has no flex, a bit mushy, but no resist

Art tip bleeds out (see fieldtest for Milo Art Markers), Pro tip doesn't seem to bleed- may be easier to control

Swatching:

Only three greys in this set- a blue grey, a warm grey, a cool grey- much more managable
This set comes with a colorless blender
Black is in both the 12 and 24 piece sets

Very reactive to the Pro blender

Ball Test

Foam rubber nib runs a little dry- doesn't saturate as much
Because the nib runs a little dry, it takes wear and tear pretty fast- think of a dried out Copic Superbrush
Handle a lot like the newer Artist Loft markers (which I like decently well) at a better price point
Caps are a bit difficult to remove, but the nubs do help with grip

12 Color Rainbow Road Test:

Even with just 12 colors, these blend fairly well
I also like the color selection in the 12 color set, it's got two workable skintones, which is unusual for 12 color selections.

The Verdict:

These handle on par with the newer brush tips on the Artist Loft Markers. I like how these handle better than the Milo Art markers, and recommend the Pro markers over the art markers. I also like the color selection with the 12 and 24 piece sets a bit better than what comes in the 48 piece Art set- with fewer graytones, there's more room for pastels and skintones.
