INSIDE Abandoned Kmart (NE SANDY BLVD) - Portland, OR

I stumbled upon at an inside abandoned Kmart on Northeast Sandy Boulevard in Portland, Oregon. This store opened in March 1971. It had been the biggest Kmart ever within the state of Oregon and most of the Portlanders frequently shopped here back then. It also featured Little Caesars and Kcafe. Finally in September or October 2018, the store has shut down for good due to underperforming. On the inside, it was in much worse shape as it looks like the building's been abandoned for 20 years. Most of the ceiling tiles were missing, some walls were destroyed, graffitis were everywhere, and few structures were unsafe. Homeless people had been entering and living on this property for a while. This footage was filmed 20 days before the big fire unfortunately struck this place on July 19th. Thankfully, nobody was hurt or killed. Prior to the disaster, there is a story about redevelopment plan for this former Kmart. Watch and find out what is about the proposal.
