Founded in 2013, the Creative Future Writers' Award (CFWA) is a national writing development programme that celebrates talented, underrepresented writers, those whose opportunities have been limited due to disability, physical and/or mental health issues, identity, or other social circumstances.

It features the UK's only national writing competition and high-profile awards ceremony for ALL underrepresented writers.

Prizes are awarded for both poetry and short fiction, including £10000 of cash prizes & professional writing development support. Winners are selected by a panel of industry experts.

The showcase was held at the Southbank as part of the London Literature Festival in 2021 to a sold-out audience.

Our 2021 winners read their work in a showcase event hosted by best selling author Dorothy Koomson and poet and spoken word artist Joelle Taylor.
