Ferrand Single Cask Collection Cognac (aged in Banyuls casks!)

The Ferrand Cognac house has begun releasing cask strength single casks selected by specific stores. The one I’m reviewing was “Selected by the buyers from Specs in Texas.” It’s made from grapes harvested 100% from the Grand Champagne region and distilled in 2011. It was matured in casks that previously held Banyuls wine. Banyuls is a sweet, fortified wine from the southwestern region of France that is consumed as an aperitif or a dessert wine. After spending 10 years in those casks, it was bottled at 108.6 proof, and retails at $150. Now let’s get to the review and see if this sounds like something you’d be interested in!
