In 2018, a Smule karaoke app group called Atypical created a group song to register for that year's big app-wide competition, Sing Olympics (SO). The registration criteria was that every member of an entering group who was to compete individually for that team would (in order to be eligible) first have to be a part of a registration group song, which would be scored by judges, functioning as an entry-level first round before starting into the individual categories/"events".

Atypical came together and put out an AMAZING cover of "No Diggity," the 1996 hit originally performed by Dr. Dre, Blackstreet, and Queen Pen. Overcoming the ditching of the group early on by their first rapper (named Patty), the group placed extremely highly with their rendition of No Diggity, and several of its members went on to dominate their individual categories in SO 2018's later rounds. This is the vocals-only version, where all you can really hear are their vocals bc I did my best to strip out the instrumental backing track.

This song inspired the HECK out of me back then, and it's still an absolute bop today. I was fortunate enough to be able to join Atypical, later renamed to The Core, and sing with the remaining members on several other group songs. Without this song existing though, I likely would have never made those connections and found some of the joy that I did in the Smule/LINE community in my early-mid 20's. For this song, I am grateful.

I asked the group's permission to upload this song onto YT, and for use of the cover arts they originally used during SO 2018.
