‘Til Summer Comes Around | Keith Urban and Shaun Holton DUET | The Voice Australia

A few years on now and it’s still one of the first things people ask me about. This went so well that the main question people have is ‘was it all setup?’ As in, did you already know that Keith would impromptu hop up and perform this with you?

And the answer is… yes. I did. The funny part is. He didn’t. And neither did anyone else.

I knew early on when I was cast in season 10 of the Voice Australia that Keith was going to be one of the judges. And that was when I picked it.
I’ve loved this song of his as a duet ever since I found Keith and John Mayer playing it together on YouTube in 2008.
So when I saw Keith was a judge I already knew this has to happen.

Once it was decided what my auditioning song would be, I would practice it AND this duet as though I was already meant to be doing it. Every time. I had it ready. I told only my wife and my kids that this was going to happen. I said nothing to the producers, to anyone!
I just keep practicing it, even down to the idea that I’d sing the verse, he’d do the chorus, I’d take the lower harmony.

And even though I didn’t get to hear him say it as he stood side of stage. The best part of it all wasn’t so much the duet. It was my son turning to my wife and saying ‘Dad said he was going to do this! And now it’s happening!’

This moment was a gift that keeps on giving. I’ll have it forever and the trajectory of my life is forever different 💜🙏
